The Hatchet's Business Office has pledged to do its part to help make the world a better, more environmentally friendly place.

We invite you to use our online media kit, here at www.whatGWreads.com. You can also download electronic versions of our print media kit, contracts and rate sheets. Also, please recycle our print media kits at the end of the year.

Check back often as we'll be posting some of the things we're doing to help make this world a better place for all of us. Remember, small steps can make a big difference.

Here are some of the things we're doing already:

• Turning off the lights when not in use
• Using heating and cooling responsibly
• Recycling paper, glass, plastic and aluminum when possible
• Using electronic communications and technology to replace the printed page whenever possible, like faxing directly from our computers rather than printing and faxing the traditional way
• Printing double-sided when printing cannot be avoided
• Developing web solutions that will allow clients to place orders and view their tear sheets online
• Mailing small postcards to clients directing them to our web site rather than printing unneeded copies of the media kit
